Dr. Hochenauer said although he doesn't use Twitter to attract readers he said he would highly encourage the use of Twitter. He says the number one thing about being a good blogger is, writing, if you are a good writer and there are no grammar errors. Come up with a good topic to talk about that people are interested in. Popular blogs are sports, restaurants. He thinks the Oklahoman at some point will someday have a blog. Blogging can also be used to practice writing for the blogger or an online diary. He also added, if traffic is what you are looking for, post A LOT several times a week. What you post online STAYS online.
Great speaker. The use of social media was something I did not think about. It could really help my blog get noticed by readers interested in the weather. By using social media such as Twitter or Facebook I can bring my friends and followers to my page and maybe they will retweet or share my blog and create traffic on my page. Another thing I need to work on is structure. I need to immediately attracted my reader with the first sentence of my blog and be sure the grammar and spelling are correct.
This blog will discuss Oklahoma's quickly changing climate, and include detailed forecasts for the days to come. You can also follow my weather Facebook account for up-to-date weather information.. The link is provided on this page, it's easier to go to Facebook and search "weatherrenfrow"

Is Winter Over?
The past couple of weeks have been pretty warm after a very cold and snowy start to the month of February. The high fire danger will continue to remain extremely high until we get some sort of beneficial precipitation. However, this is not unusual to the Oklahoma, January and February are in fact our driest months of the year. So what does that mean for winter weather?
It is not uncommon for Oklahoma to get significant snow events in the month of March, so putting the coats back in the closet for the season may be a bad idea. The last day of February and the first couple of days of March look extremely cold and could have some accumulating snowfall.
Towards the end of March into April is when we change seasons, where we welcome our tornado season. Oklahoma sees its most tornados in the months April, May and early June and then there's another peak in tornadoes in September.
Right now we need to take it one step at a time and focus at what is approaching us in the near future. This weekend looks great with temperatures in the 60's and 70's but next week winter returns with highs in the 30's and 40's and by weeks end snowfall is possible.

FIRE DANGER TO REMAIN HIGH
HIGH FIRE DANGER WILL REMAIN THROUGH THE WEEK.
THE LACK OF RAINFALL AND DRY VEGETATION AND HIGH WINDS WILL MAKE A FIRE THAT STARTS HARD TO CONTROL.
WATCH YOUR BURNING!

MORE WINTER WEATHER
It seems we can't get out of this winter weather pattern, I guess it is because we are making up for a quiet January.
Another potential winter storm has it's eyes on the Sooner State Sunday-Tuesday. Right now it is too early to determine how much. However, there are some signs that this could be a significant storm and there are some signs that it could be just a light snow event.
I will post more information this weekend as we get closer to the actual date of the storm.
